Purpose

The SOAP Mentoring Academy is a vibrant community that fosters the growth, learning, and career development of individuals committed to providing exemplary obstetric anesthesia care. This initiative is exclusive to SOAP members, ensuring a focused and passionate network of mentors and mentees. 

Goals

Our primary aim is to enrich the professional development of both mentors and mentees, delivering substantial benefits to SOAP members by:

  • Offering expert guidance, advice, and unwavering support.
  • Facilitating meaningful connections among members.
  • Creating and curating targeted programs and events designed to address specific needs.

Focus Areas

  1. Speaker Exchange Program
    • A platform for sharing expertise and insights across the community.
  2. Short-term Consulting Services
    • Includes a specialized Mentor/Mentee Matching Program tailored to individual needs.
  3. Professional Development Lecture Series
    • The SOAP Fall Forum offers lectures to advance professional skills and knowledge.

Mentor/Mentee Matching Program - 2023-2024 Term & Deadlines

  • July 29, 2024 - Applications for Mentor/Mentee pairings open.
  • August 23, 2024 - Applications for Mentor/Mentee pairings close
  • September 12, 2024 - Mentors & Mentees will be paired for a 9-month commitment
  • May 2025 - Mentor/Mentee 9-month commitment is completed
