ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
The Abstract Program is now closed. Confirmations were sent via email to all individuals notifying them of their acceptance or rejection.

Posters Instructions:

Posters should be limited to 3’ high x 7’ wide (landscape), and pins will be available in the exhibit rooms. Because of limited poster board space and the large number of submissions, three sets of posters will be displayed during the meeting and each set must be posted and removed promptly at the times designated. Based on feedback from previous annual meetings, break times have been significantly increased and moderators have been asked to interact with authors during each review session. Therefore, it is expected that an author be present during coffee breaks while the poster is displayed to answer attendee questions.

MEETING SCHEDULE:

Workshops: On May 2nd, there will be 3 workshops offered; Ultrasound Techniques in Obstetric Anesthesia, a High-Risk Obstetric Crisis Simulation, and a new concept of a clinical practice seminar. This inaugural presentation will be moderated by Phil Hess and will be "Nuts and Bolts to Cutting Edge: A Seminar on Coagulopathy".

New Concepts: This meeting will try some new concepts and we will welcome your comments afterwards. Some of the new approaches will be as follows:

1. The Annual Business Meeting will be held during the Thursday lunch period. For those wanting to attend, grab your box lunch and come back to the Grand Ballroom ready to vote on future sites and Board officers. Obviously, the proceedings will have to move at a quick pace. A more relaxed, catered lunch is planned for Saturday.
2. As the theme of the meeting revolves about the use of Evidence-Based Practice, Pamela Angle, a trained EBM instructor, will lead a workshop on the use of these concepts in lieu of Breakfast with the Experts.
3. The Monterey property abounds with small jogging paths for those of you who enjoy a good run or walk but none are large enough to accommodate our Fun Run participants, and the town of Monterey will not let us take it over to hold our event. But, as we are on the California coastline, we'll be offering a bit of California culture with a Sunrise Yoga session for those inclined to try it. On Saturday morning, Laura McKinnon, an instructor from the Seaside Yoga Sanctuary, will come to the Hyatt and lead all you yogis through a morning of relaxation and bliss. Beginners are welcome. Namaste.
4. During one of our afternoon breaks, Rich Smiley will introduce to SOAP members the "Poster Walk-Around" where those so inclined may join him as he strolls through and reviews select posters. Interactive participation will be encouraged.
